  • I've got an Arkose too, there's nothing to not like about them

  • I picked one up this week off here - heaps of fun so far. Seems very versatile and very confidence inspiring!

  • Cielos always look nice 😏

  • Great paintjob man, the version I can get hold of is bright green so I'm debating a rattle can job

  • Great paintjob also man! I'll take a scroll through. Seems like I can't get a bad review of this bike online...extremely tempted now

  • Grim. Thought their first round of bikes were pretty fun. That thing just looks open mould with a very harsh looking fork.

  • This was also the bright green one! I couldn’t live with it!

  • Oh I didn't paint it. I just carried a marker and got anyone to just draw what they wanted on it. Annoyingly no one did a dick.

  • Okay :-(
I don't see myself buying one, but at least it's not yet another 15kg "gravel" bike with 2.3'' knobblies and a 46 at the back.

  • True. Just looks pretty unforgiving for gravel. Looks like an Aeroad!

  • Can you put internal di2 cabling on/in a Arkose?

  • Depends on the year. New ones. Yes. Older ones. Drill.

  • Which year should i look for?

  • Sorry, I should have phrased that better, some newer ones. Older ones no.

    Limited Edition

  • is this one flat mount too?

  • Annoyingly, you can only use a 1x chainset on that one. I was thinking that I could internal di2 one of the non-ltd internal routing ones.

  • Indeed.

    @damitamit

No, I don't think so, but might be able to route the wiring under the BB towards the FD.
I don't have hands on with any Pinnacles anymore, so this is a question for @jameso
It is a gravel-centric bike, so most will just run a single.

  • Someone on here said that my handlebar bag could be a little unstable. Just did this with some paracord. It’s rock solid now. Doesn’t move at all. It’s hardly quick-release though. Meh.

  • @damitamit - If you were prepared to drill gear cable stops in DT and CS out to brake hose OD and could house the Di2 wire in something 6mm OD you could make it work. There's room for a wire in the BB and the RD wire/cable combo can exit the base of the DT as normal. Making an exit hole in ST for the FD would be a bit of a gamble, you're creating a stess point there.

  • Perhaps a bit late coming to this one but just completed the dash yesterday. Loved it! Great mix of everything (field, road, gravel, rock, sand...) and it’s very well signposted with little stickers so can’t get lost. I started at blanford st Mary where there is a very convenient free car park to leave the car. Did 100km the first day, had a good dinner in the sailors retreat pub and wildcamped about an hours cycle further on in an orchard. So good!

  • What are the climbs like? Worth throwing something bigger than my 28T cassette on? I’m 1X with a 34T at the front.

  • Think I did the event 1x42/32t on 32c.. it wasn't really low enough with the bike fully loaded (cross gearing), got around OK just had to standing climb quite a bit. If you've got a wider cassette, probably worth it.
