Yeah, cheers both. Should be fine but between us we can't find a way of changing cash on collection to a PayPal invoice so it's back to cash.

Arrange the collection and tell the seller you will pay for the items via PayPal when you arrive. Can do it on your phone via the PayPal website or app.
He will lose abit due to the PayPal fees.

Bought a frame on eBay that has an EBB shell only to find on arrival that the bolt through the shell is completely rounded and the ebb itself seized solid in place. Ffs
Seller included a dropout mounted chain tensioner which makes me think he knew the ebb was fucked but he didn’t say -

It wasn’t done up tight so was able to get the bolt out with a hex key but it’d never be able to tighten up. Which means the whole EBB is just held in place by its own seized-ness. So not only am I not able to adjust it, but at some point it could just give and spin while riding.

Haha what do I do with it once it’s out? Frame is still unusable without a replacement or at the least a new bolt in the exact size

Not just eBay that causes problems, Merlin sent me the 26” version of the rim I ordered in 29” and Chain Resction have sent me to correct hub (Shimano RM66) but had put a photo of some other hub with better seals on the site and that was what I based my purchase on.
Gah!

No bb, just the ebb lump. Cannondale Trail SL. Just gonna try and chase a refund. I would rather a geared one anyway

2 items sold via BIN and 2 items ive had to open unpaid disputes on to get fees back. Fuckin shambles.

Something funny going on here. Looks like a steal, but appears to have split & the price is only for the frame?

Has the option to set the length of a 'Buy It Now' style listing been removed from eBay?!
All i seem to be able to list as is 'Good Till Cancelled or Sold' - fuck that!
-
• #1215
I don't really see how it matters?
-
• #1216
Have you ever bought an item on eBay?
-
• #1217
Or sold one for that matter?
-
• #1218
Sell it to Pifko in [nn] days.
-
• #1219
Yeah, lots - if it hasn’t sold in xx days then just cancel the listing, no?
-
• #1220
To save being obstreperous I tend to find my items sell in the last few days of the listing, I also tend to find you find listings ending soonest at the top of the search.
I also personally buy and start putting offers on when the listing is close to ending.
Thus I only ever use 3 day listings, starting on a Thursday night, ending on a Sunday night, first week of the month.
It’s got a pretty consistent hit rate with getting my stuff sold, at the price I want, very quick!
That’s why I threw the question out and why it’s pissed me off! -

Bids coming in towards the end of an auction listing yeah but BINs selling at the end? Not something I've noticed.
I've sometimes chucked 2 listings up for the same item, one BIN and one auction style. Listings are generally fee so doesn't cost you anymore and you can just cancel the bin if you get a bid.

I will confess to doing this - if it's a 30 day listing at £60 I wait for 27 days and then offer £35 or something - pretty decent success rate
But I don't think it's that big a deal really.

Fucking windowlickers.
Dude...
Only way could see it being a scam is if he gets your money then goes quiet re you collecting. In which case I’d imagine you’d have no problem at all getting PayPal to reimburse you.
