  • Three really open and exciting quarter finals coming up, each of which could go either way and one which could also go either way but which will have us hiding behind the sofa. In reality any of the eight teams remaining could win it.

I like Southgate and the way he is handling the media and managing to get the best out of a fairly average squad. Average squads can do well if properly managed and if they have a team mentality. Let's see if this England squad has that mentality.

I have no expectations and little hope but remain available to be pleasantly surprised. My enjoyment of the World Cup is coming from the games that don't involve England.

  • He's decided on his first team, pretty much none of those played against Belgium.

  • Nottingham is fast becoming the battleground on which the World Cup takes on "culture". First it was pub quizzes, now it's Titanic The Musical...

  • Maaaaaaaate.
I don't know why I do it. Because it's habit? Because picking on stuff you used to do but do less of now is a habit hard to break?

I am guilty of the regurgitation as fact: I've stated it two pages up.

I suppose its the same as "statto = Damo".

I'm not doing it to get a response. I didn't realise it was getting under your skin so much. I'll endeavour to stop. SRS.

As for lazy, not amusing, and plain annoying: the same could be said about "pooch" "the sheriff" "referring to anyone you doing know by a nickname made up by yourself you might not use in front of them"

I am not trolling but some of the stuff you write provokes a response (which is good isn't it?) And I respond.

Here: if it's getting you down, I didn't know. I'll make an effort to stop saying "guardian". Ok?
However, I'm going to respond to the stuff that winds me up. Because if I saw you in the pub, I'd fucking tell you.....

  • I didn't even think of that.

  • I suppose its the same as "statto = Damo"

    But that's actually useful!

  • Tell us where you’re hiding it. If we lose I’ll send some pwoper geezers round to make sure it’s ‘safe’.

  • Titanic The Musical actor Niall Sheehy said the women "not only followed the penalty shootout on their phone, but also said 'yesss' on each goal scored".

    THE WOMEN! GET IN!

  • Titanic's not coming home.

  • Way to ruin a film.

  • Soz - should have used the spoiler thingy.

  • you've been living in Essex for 5 mins and you're already in with the locals

  • I think I am the only on here that things Sterling is key to us winning the next game. and doing more winning after that. as someone else pointed out up thread his movement and all round unpredictability creates chances for others to exploit. I am looking at you Lingard and Kane. No point looking at Alli.

England have probably the best striker in the world at the moment. And Maguire has been superb.

So we don't have a creative force in midfield. But when we had a gaggle of so called creative midfielders - lamps, gerrard, beckham, scholes - we were still shit.

England's chances lie in the fact that they have looked very solid at the back. and if they stay cool will eventually unlock defences.

if the game is as entertaining as Corndog vs Chalfie we are in for a cracker. peace and love guys. you are both all kinds of awesome

  • Corndog vs Chalfie

    We deserve penalties.

  • haha, genuine lol.

and we should make that happen. I know damo can play a bit, I have shared the pitch with him a number of times. and I think corndog nutmegged someone once.

  • Five dirty bikes each, the first one to clean them all to my standards wins.

  • That would be scintillating television.

  • Five dirty nappies each, the first one to clean them all to my standards wins.

  • Has anyone done the flat-pack four gag yet?

  • Fuuuuuuuck that.

  • I'm not confident in my abilities on a full size pitch.
    cue

  • nope I'm with you Jonny Sterling has been ok things not quite comming off for him but as said above he keeps showing for the ball and his pace scares defenders yo death and wins free kicks in good areas.
