• Long story short...

My previous car failed its MOT and the bill was more than the car's worth. The garage were supposed to SORN it, however, I just checked it's MOT status.

Suddenly all the corroded brakepipes have been covered in underseal and 'can't be inspected'!

I'm guessing a £700 Ford Focus has been quickly sprayed and sold on?

  • Mk1 focus were quote bad for corrosion. There are two in my yard that look OK, but sub frame to body area is dust.
At that price point I would be buying private (anything under 2k), very few good trader cars at that value unless you are lucky.

  • Ha! I'm not buying it! It's my old car that was supposed to be getting scrapped.

It failed an mot (at that point I said scrap it because estimated repair cost was about £1k), then the garage seems to of sprayed the underside with a sealant compound and put it through an mot again.
