I do know what you mean. That's why I have a smaller (45mm) contemporary version to wear day to day.

I saw the exact replica (in smaller diameter) from Eaglemoss in the charity shop. They wanted something insanely high like £6 or I’d have bought it for the shits and giggles.

I also have some old motorcycle gloves that are painfully similar to the aviator’s gloves in those photos, if you want to go a bit Jonathan Creek fanclub about it.

To be honest it is beautiful in itself, but to contemporary eyes is a bit ...historical magazine collector.
