Hi all,

I have just finished to put together this pink Mercier using what I had in my parts box.

This is a 1977 pink Mercier bike, of undistinct steel tubing (not high end).
Sizing is 55cm seat tube and 57cm top tube so good for someone around 5ft10 ish.

The original deep pink colour (same as Poulidor's jersey at the time) is still intact but has scrapes and marks all over. Slight bubbly under the paint and also it looks like somebody painted the room it was stored in as there are speckles of dark blue paint all over it. All in, this is a beater grade station bike.

I have just cleaned and serviced so it is ready to roll. Headset regreased, wheels trued, loads of new parts.

Gearset is 3x8 speeds with 170mm triple cranks, Campagnolo Avanti 3x8 speed brifters, Avanti triple front derailleur, Xenon rear derailleur. New bottom bracket threadless 116mm sealed bearings square taper
Clinchers wheels, Rigida Nova rims on Miche hubs, Campagnolo 8 speed 12-23t cassette with Miche lockring, new tyres Michelin Dynamic Sport in 25mm
Brakes are low end side pull. I have fitted new pads all around
Cockpit has a 1" ahead adaptor with a Ritchey 100mm 1" stem & ITM drops, wrapped in new bar tape white cork and new cables inner/outers
-Saddle is a good Fizik Aliante gamma with Kium rail in white - I also have the original Mercier saddle.

Being picky, I would say that the rear derailleur fitment is not the best looking- the original hanger is not threaded so I had to use a RD bolt-on adapter.
The are mudguard eyes so it would be relatively easy to fit 28mm tyres & mudguards.

Price wise, SOLD for £150 for the complete bike so not a mad price knowing there's about £60 of new parts and half a day's labour to put it together. And some Campag' 8 Speed stuff.
