• Looks interesting. Is it all off-road? Any spots in particular good for a bit of wild camping? I could drive to any point in the route on Saturday morning, ride 50 miles, have a kip, ride the rest, drive home...

  • hey, it's small roads, forest tracks, gravel. don't take anything less than a 32mm cross tires. ideal would probably be a 2.0" with minimal tread

I've wild camped in the woods above kimmeridge, it's so lovely there and you can roll down the hill in the morning and go for a swim first thing!

there are loads of writeups online which you can read to get a feel for the course

  • also if you don't have time to do the whole thing just do the southern half - eg Wareham to Morton - it's the most beautiful part for sure

  • Perhaps a bit late coming to this one but just completed the dash yesterday. Loved it! Great mix of everything (field, road, gravel, rock, sand...) and it’s very well signposted with little stickers so can’t get lost. I started at blanford st Mary where there is a very convenient free car park to leave the car. Did 100km the first day, had a good dinner in the sailors retreat pub and wildcamped about an hours cycle further on in an orchard. So good!
