This is what I was thinking. It seems to add an additional layer of murk to an already murky situation. Would have been so much better if this had come out a week ago before the Tour stuff kicked off. But, yeah, no evidence, probably not guilty. But that probably is heavily weighted with cycling history and there's not much Froome can do about that.
Looking at the timelines with my tinfoil hat on, I can't tell which way it's gone. Did the ASO know Froome was about to be pardoned and so tried to block his entry, or did the UCI see the ASO trying to block Froome and so cleared his case? Or taking off the tinfoil hat maybe the timing was a coincidence. Either way it does smack of last minute wrangling whatever the case.
