My rear inner gear cable frayed so I removed it today. The frayed cable has also caused damage to the black “tongue”.
Is it normal for the tongue to be this long? The shimano manual seems to show it being trimmed a lot shorter.
I’m wondering if I can just trim down the damaged part before fitting a new inner?
(shimano 105 5800 group set)
This is also my first time doing this.
