Yep, that's the one. They moved on to disc brakes in recent years and not interested in that modern nonsense for a commuter hack.
Pinnacle Neon 1 looks similar too and I could transfer over existing rack/dynohub/etc. Quiche gears would be perfect (current commuter is an ancient Gary Fisher Nirvana with a triple that only ever sees the middle chainring being used). The years of needing something super sturdy for Weeride / Hamax duty have gone.
Since the current commuter is on its way out (interesting creaking noises from it recently) I'll be on the lookout for a medium Spesh Source 2016 or Pinnacle Neon 1 in any sales.
Saw a nice looking commuting bike last night and remembered what I thought was the brand name "Source" but googling for that brings up nothing. Had a Brixton Cycles sticker on it but that could just be because the owner lives near there, their website doesn't list those bikes (despite the 404 error on their bikes page).
Stealth black, straight forks, rim brakes, rack, dérailleur gears, straight bars with ergon grips, felt sturdy and I was surprised at the weight (not as heavy as I had expected).
"Source" (or possibly something else) on the top tube near the stem.
Any ideas? If I see the bike/owner again I'll ask more questions but that's only if I chance upon them again.
[EDIT] Ah, might be the Specialized Source.
