  • It was warm! I finished in approximately 17.00.

.@doubleodavey,wearing the scars from a crash, didn't make it to the end. It was a very brave effort.

And in the 10,000 @philpub proved that being cycling fit doesn't necessarily pay off when running 25 tartan laps. Ms Phil won her race. Southern champ. Whoop whoop.

  • yes, it was too hot, windy and I'm too out of shape. well done everyone else.

I am dusting off the double pushchair for parkrun this morning, first time the twins have been in it for about 6 months

  • I reckon we were brave to turn up. ;-)

I had the biggest DNF demons throughout the race last night, so I really was happy just to see it through to the finish. Was thinking I'd want to at least target sub-35 so on paper 17:31 at halfway was looking OK, but I was always fading; 18:12 second half (slower than marathon pb pace!) for 35:43 on my watch. I've run more than 2 mins quicker than that on the road this year, in tights.
MsPub's happy to have beaten me twice within a week, she ran a track pb of 35:30 for her win. Southern champ, winning herself a medal, a rucksack and a mug!

44 miles on the bike this morning. Cycling's much more fun than running in this weather.
