Bit of a mess imo. Claim c-record cranks=just new record. Then old track pedals. Chorus if not Athena seatpost not c -record. Miche cog = : /. Mks clips, 70’s stem and maybe bars.
Just secured some sheriff star hubs to be laced to NOS omega vs to be full c record track for mine. Though aero c record seatpost rather than pista one.
That said it’s still under the stairs and now live on a hill. One day. 😐

Why didn't you place the champion mondial transfer a LittleBigPlanet bit more to the right? Just to look more like the original?

Finally got the matching rear wheel on the track bike and now fettling guards and p-clips on the AB for winter commutes... the radicals don’t sit well under the Campag callipers so I’m going to have to switch over to some older Ultegra... ah well...

125th 953 in 55cm on eBay...

What does the ‘AB’stand for on the gazelle frames?
I’d like to source a 58cm frame for a winter set up with full length guards. Ideally with regular calipers, not long drops, and modern dropout spacing- any idea on frame names I should be searching for?

Absolutely Brilliant

You'll be after an 'A' frame (or a trim trophy) if you want mudguard eyelets.
A frames are also nice because they mostly have a scooped seatstay fillet at the wrap-over that an AB does not have.
From the 80s (post butterfly brake bridge) it goes as follows, from memory...
A = fender eyelets, external routed brake cable
AB = team replica colourways, external routed brake cable, panto fork crown with no circle
AA Special = chrome forks, gazelle panto in circle, internal routed rear brake cable
AA Super = short wheelbase, indented seatube, aero mount dt shifter bosses, sometimes monostayThese are generally correct, there are always anomalies with Gazelles, which is part of the charm! All rear spacing will be 126mm but will happily accomodate a 130mm modern rear hub. Nothing from the 80s should require long drop brakes, doubt many from the 70s would either as all the Champion Mondial's I've seen (excluding TT) are for 700c wheels.
The in the 90s things changed a bit... there is a used (ie winter bike fodder) 853 TVM on ebay currently, 58cm too... pair this with some PDW full metal fenders and you've got what you are after!
Cheers,
Matt -
