Shimano should have gone wireless by now.

Not if it halves the battery life and/or has any impact on reliability.

You’re sending a signal to change gear, it’s not rocket science. Shimano should be embarrassed they haven’t gone wireless yet.

I hardly think the issue is that it's beyond them, perhaps they're not happy with the compromises. Like I said, I don't want it if it's half the battery life.
