Should have popped a shrunken head in the other side.

Would've shrunk a head neck hole to fit around the key stub personally. Bonus of that approach is you can reuse the key with the head's eyeholes, nostrils etc. for keyrings. Spend the extra for a head with long hair and you can fashion a lanyard.
