Have you tried pulling it out with a piece of broken hacksaw blade. If you really can't get it done I guess a locksmith call out is going to be £120 min + replacement lock and keys if they drill it out.

It’s currently locked so not urgent, but I’m beginning to loose patience.
I don’t have a hack saw blade but can’t see it fitting either

Do you have access to the interior? Straighten the barrel and push it out with another key?
-
• #14330
Tiny needle nose pliers?
Would also be straightforward to just swap out the lock cylinder with basic tools

I have access to both sides, it is the interior. How might I straighten the barrel?
-
• #14332
Yes if I could get it open...
-
• #14333
Well given the barrel is partially turned, all the pins must be engaged, so just use something in the other side and turn it until you can stick another key in, presumably.
edit: actually I guess the other side doesn't turn with the interior. Duh.
Pliers somehow? pin spanner? smoosh your finger against it and rotate? dunno

Doh.

Surely hammer and fire?

Isn't there enough key sticking out to get a pair of mole grips on it?
-
• #14337
Unsure how this helps. Which one do I set fire too?

Drive the key out from the other side
by hammering in a frozen sausage? -
• #14339
What does the other side look like?
-
• #14340
I’ve tried the spare in the other side, nothing doesn’t fully engage, presumably because of the other key.
I think I’m going to have to make the call. -

Terry’s All Locks to the rescue; coming at 16:00, bets as to how long it takes them!?
-
• #14344
<5 mins, including going back to the van for tools and writing an invoice out.

Is there a surcharge for the astroglide, or do they throw it in for free?
-
• #14346
16 mins £55.
Predominantly a Shirley Hammer & fire technique. -
• #14347
Should have popped a shrunken head in the other side.
-
• #14349
Would've shrunk a head neck hole to fit around the key stub personally. Bonus of that approach is you can reuse the key with the head's eyeholes, nostrils etc. for keyrings. Spend the extra for a head with long hair and you can fashion a lanyard.

Over the last week or two the crack pictured has appeared. I'm concerned over the proximity to the house and the amount of movement - this is most visible in the door handle/bar, which used to sit nicely in the catch.
This has been quite rapid, but i suspect is due to the prolonged period of warm weather and lack of rain. There is no drainage running under the area. It's falling away from the house and there is also no movement visible in the property stone/mortar. It does appear to be localised to the retaining wall which is only 1.5 ft and the nearby paving.Who should I be calling? Should I set up some fixed monitoring points in the interim and be measuring distances/drop?

How much can I expect to pay to have the broken key removed from the lock?
I’ve successfully removed one myself previously but this one is proving much harder x2 the time and no progress.
