It's a little frustrating how rare plain white socks seem to be

I'm glad this isn't just me. My long Rapha pro team socks have gone a bit off white, went to try and buy some more from Rapha: nope. Googled: nope.

Will check that China thread. The only correct colour for summer road socks is white!

Definitely look on AliExpress, there's loads and they're cheap enough that you can buy 10 pairs and bin them when they go grey.

What casual shorts for commuting? Are the likes of Swrve worth the extra money?

If you can find a pair of Sugoi Hans Schmantz shorts, I’ve had 2 pairs for the best part of 8 years, still wearable and looking decent, also comfy.

My friend wore a pair of the old version on a club ride, they got some frightened looks from the old boys, so subsequently be came his staple Saturday morning socks. It's a shame they don't do a matching jersey.

I used to swear by Dickies until I started riding 20km to work. If I had time to change out of bibs and wash up I'd do that, but I don't.

La Passion, what’s their stuff like generally? How’s the fit?

I really like their kit. I have 2 jerseys and a pair of bib shorts. The shorts are probably the comfiest I own, just wish the leg length was a bit longer. I am tall though and I think the current ones might be longer. Really like the jerseys too, cant fault them. Fit on both is good, italian/ castelli sizing.

I’d say it runs a touch smaller than Castelli. I fot nicely in Castelli medium all year round but I need to be race-fit to get into my La Passione and it not be obscene.

Quality is great. As above, best bibs I own.

I just donated a pair of WWR swrve shorts to charity after 8 years, probably could have worn them for another 8 years.

Will be ordering a pair as soon as I get paid :) Are the WWR ones are a bit lighter than the cotton ones?

Any tips for non horrific bottles?

I think these by Condor are nice and understated. Or just get the Elite ones for £2.
