I'm a bit surprised that Omega would service a watch that they didn't make.

How would serial numbers work on a shed built watch?
-
• #28179
Like a frankenwatch i would suspect....
-

Suppose if every single piece is genuine Omega, they would probably know that it was a diy, but the customer could argue they had it serviced x-number of times til Trigger’s broom looked original.
Better yet, simply that they bought it in good faith like that as all parts were Meggers inside.

i will add a watch with a bracelet next year
There you go then. Bracelets for the SM300 are not available. /discussion
;) -
• #28182
Not necessarily. Most Frankenwatches seem to be a mishmash of og bits of different watches, usually with a redial.
-
• #28183
I think the WatchCo SM300s are slightly different - they might be a mismatch of different SM300 years but they all (as far as I know) come from SM300s.

Service dials are different to original. Serial numbers won’t match and it’s near enough impossible to get the right bracelet now. Also as far as I know Omega won’t service it, but that’s not an issue as no one in their right mind would have Omega service a watch unless it was under warranty

Probably a long shot... but does anyone on here have a vibrating static poising tool for sale?
Would like to avoid shipping one back from Geneva if possible.

Downsizing. Anyone interested, feel free to PM. Let me know if this type of post isn't kosher, I'll remove right away.

Oh I would get one in a heartbeat if I could justify the cost, and if they did it with a pepsi, I'd find it harder to resist.
-
• #28192
Cheap too!
-
• #28193
Yeah not cheap but amazing value, he found an online retailer with a sale and picked it up for £679 (rrp £850).
-
• #28194
How much are you looking at for them?
(Specifically the Seiko) -
• #28195
That Seiko is a banger

i have to say, the Steinhart is spectacular. Im really loving wearing mine. Im not mad about the bad nor the Lume, but the construction and look, its wonderful.

Here’s my SM300 parts build. It cost £1200 in parts (when they used to be cheaper) and around £200 for the movement. They sell complete for around £2500.
*I need to polish the crystal.

The Seiko - £50. A bit less than what I paid for it. No box or papers, keeps excellent time. Impressively so.
The Steinhart (Ocean One Ceramic 39) - £320 Bought Feb '18. All boxes, papers and cards present.
The Timex Expedition is on sale on Amazon I've just noticed, so there's no point in me selling it as it's so cheap now.More pics, which should outline condition adequately: https://imgur.com/a/yyb0EpT
Another tenner should cover tracked and insured post from Dublin.
Oh and +4% if Paypal, please. -

So great. Where did you get the dive bezel? I've had a nightmare sourcing them.
isnt a frankenwatch a watch that has some genuine parts and some fake parts assembled together?
is it a frankenwatch if Omega itself accepts to service it?
