In my mind it is all about getting the weight on the front wheel on a road bike like that.
Getting the saddle in front of your BB and having a longer stem like you have there makes a road bike feel faster imo.
Plus long stem suits the big frame.

Mine has an especially big saddle setback because of my loooooong femurs.

swapped the set back for an inline, feels much better now. Just got to get used to road bikes and gears again :)
