Tax question. I, and my partner, left our jobs in August last year. Presumably we are both owed a bit of cash money care of HMRC. I was hoping it would just go into our bank account. It hasn't. Anyone gone through this process before, and/or should I just call them? We don't live in the address we did at the time (currently not based in UK).

Tax question
Belongs in the tax thread. You won't get a rebate unless you claim it.

Seat pack/roll
Who makes a simple reliable one that:
isn’t likely to try and kill me like the Rapha one did by spilling its contents
Isn’t going to fall off like the one I had that was only secured by Velcro
Doesn’t use a twist bracket like my scion one where the bracket has worn away due to road vibrations. It should hold at minimum a multi tool, inner tube and co2. possibly ventolin and epi pen.

I use one of these

It can come a little loose so I put a safety pin through the strap but otherwise it works well. -

Cheers. I also spoke to the company and they said the big car park round the corner woudl allow bikes to be locked up inside, might pop round there this week to find out since I only work down the road...

If you are PAYE (and probably only if you don't fill in a tax return) you should indeed get an automatic rebate. But not for a while. I got a cheque on the doormat in Feb for the year to April 17. But if you've moved...

Check parcel2go.com.
If it involves bikestuff, it's generally cheaper when the longest side is less then a meter. -

Twiston too small?

The Rapha one wasn't trying to kill you, it just wanted to make you suffer.

Are medium base (E26) light bulbs standard around here as well? We're looking at replacing the compact fluorescent one in our kitchen with a high powered LED (at least 150 watt equivalent) and are wondering if anyone here has favourite brands et cetera. Probably looking at 3500k - 4000k temp.

Cheers. That's what I thought. We both were PAYE, and I'm fairly certain it happened before (when we first moved to the UK and were charged emergency tax. But that was a while ago, so things change). I'm pretty sure it was deposited into my account rather than sent as a cheque. Maybe I'll give them a call today.

I went to the gov.uk VERIFY webpage thing and it told me I had a return and I was able to just click a button to have it sent to my account. Result!

Next Q. Should I look beyond squarespace for a basic little website/shop?

Its great, I haven't killed mine yet (bought as soon as they came out about 2+ years ago) and if you do Boa will send free replacements.

The last saddle pack I lost had my keys, atomic 22 keys and other gubbins. I can't afford to lose a saddle pack, just getting a bit of fishing line as compensation when it snaps isn't enough!

Big x Top?
I found mine very secure, as the strap threads through the buckle and can be tightened while on the saddle.
I'm not using mine ATM, if you want to try it out.
At the big bike storage outside Waterloo station would be my advice, not out of the way, but sheer volume of bike and footfall would make it a pretty unappealing location for a thief I would imagine
