Royal mail is £12,but I assume I can find something a bit cheaper. Will investigate tomorrow.

Designed for kids shoes really, but I'll do an adult shoe version too.

Both kinds will be made of decent plywood (18mm) rather than pine used above.

is collection possible? whereabouts are you located?

Reading. Rg4. A bulk delivery up to London might be possible if I'm feeling strong and I'm up there anyway. Could turn up to a job interview with a few shoe racks :)

I'll need an adult one. Happy to pay a bit more to cover the extra wood.

Postage I need to confirm but I think around a fiver.

I've got the plywood so it begins tomorrow

plywood is 12mm, not 18mm, thinner = lighter. width is 25cm, this will be for both adult and kid shoes sizes. height is 120cm. adult size will have less holding slots. will make one of each tomorrow and post pics.

ive got some lfgss ish paint too. not sure what for.

so, here is a prototype done in the plywood.

its strong, and light. holes arent cut quite as nicely as i'd like so need to work on that as well as sanding. i need to make an adult size one too. anyway - some pics below.

We need to talk about shoe sizes

The current adult ones are based on my size 8's, if that's near to what you are then great otherwise I'm planning to make some that hold larger ones. But perhaps not for another week.

I was after kids sizes, but nobody in my house has > size 8.

kids size for you is good. i'll get cracking :)

9.5-10ish at the most, so not far off

I'd like one too -- my feet are 7ish :)
