As far as I know they're more like motorbike gearboxes. Clutchless fine on the way up if you back off the gas or fit a quickshifter. Clutch on the way down unless you can unload the box. They fit auto throttle blippers to bikes these days for that.

Downshifting it not quite so simple as just using a throttle blip on a sequential if the box is manually actuated, it's actually quite hard to unload the box under braking (or any time the throttle is shut)
