You can contact Mercian to find out exactly when it was made etc (costs a tenner) but imo it looks like a Audax Special from the late 80's. I had a similar one and it rode extremely well.
I just clicked the auction and it's been bought, hopefully it was you!

Yeah I think so. Would be a shame to part it out. Was just going to clean it, add change the tyres, change the seat, sort the levers and bar tape. If I do sell or part it, and make anything significant I'll make a donation to the forum. Seller has 100% feedback 800ish times so I'm guessing it is legit.
