Swapped to a smaller carradice (zipped roll) to free up top of rack as Pendle plus bagman was blocking this space. Scavenged firewood on way home fitted perfectly.

Playing around with 650B front wheel and tire. I'm thinking about putting the same one at the rear. Some persuasion may be needed, though.

Oh...that's fucking good that! Not sure if belongs in Rat thread or HHSB thread.
-
• #7256
Damn, that looks fun.
Probably could fit more 700c tyre in (if a big 650b won’t)

Nice!
My pomp is currently unbuilt, been thinking about swapping my ‘fast fixed’ parts from my Genesis Flyer to the pomp and your photo is making me think it’d be great.

Any news on a V5? Or is it really discontinued?
-

it will work but youll have to enlarge the diameter of the hole in the crown of the fork..

Hi all!
Which ratio do you have on pompino sscx?
I will try 42 or 44 / 20. I hope it was good some forest and gravel. -
• #7266
What is the tyre clearance on the Pompino? it looks that 700*32 is possible, anyone tried 700*35 or 700*38?
-
• #7267
Depends on the model, but I believe most will clear 38c.
I run 35s (Kojak) plus mudguard on a v2 (might be v3 - 2011/12)
-
• #7268
35 plus mudguards looks a good option!!!
I assume that at the rear with one link longer chain you may utilize the above setup. On the fork though isn't it very tight? -

On the fork though isn't it very tight?
Not really. The hardest bit is the fact that I'm running out of dropout because the rear wheel needs to sit quite far back.

DREDGE! I'm looking for SSCX Pompino pics. Do you still have a version of this pic?
-
• #7271
Hi. I use Conti Cyclocross Plus 700*35c. It was fine.
-
• #7272
Was a fun bike, even if SSCX does suck.
-
• #7273
Ah no! I'm down for a race in that autumn and the only biek I really have to do it on is the pomp.
We shall see.

My Pomp has been sitting unbuilt in the garage for a few months but while on holiday I was thinking that this good weather won't last forever and that sooner or later, I'll need a bike that can take guards (my Flyer which I was riding fixed can't because of the mods I've done to it) and so, I stripped the Flyer, stole the front end off my Day One and rebuilt the Pomp...

Sscx doesn’t suck, just make sure you you have a sensible gear ratio.
Be good to know for v1 / 2 / 3 too
