If you're operating as a business, why should you be exempt of fees for handling the rubbish your business generates?

You mean like oil and nuclear power companies?

If the night of 20/21 is the shortest night then why is the 21st the longest day and not the 20th too?

Yes, but the principle also extends to non-camper passenger vehicles. A Berlingo MPV is probably cheaper to insure than a Berlingo van.

can I just use a normal drill bi?
You might get lucky with a right hand twist drill, and if you don't then you'll end up taking the middle out of the bolt and you can pick or chase the remaining coil out.

Sorry for posting bike chat in here but how do I get this bung off so I can cut my steerer?

Shout at it.
Failing that, tell us who made it or the headset that it's part of.

• #92062
Loosen it with an Allen key 😁

The bike is a Rose but I haven't a clue beyond that.

That's just a thread in the recess. Nothing else to unscrew.

• #92065
Really? How would it ever have been tightened against the steerer?

My apologies - you were right. 6mm alan key and the bung plus compression sleeve slid straight out.
All sorted.

Question about an Assured Shorthold Tenancy from the Landlords POV.
My understanding is that an AST is for a fixed term (usually a year), which then switches to a periodic tenancy requiring 2 month's notice from the landlord after the AST comes to an end.
What I can't find anywhere is how much notice before the AST is due to end a Landlord needs to give ie - what is the minimum notice the landlord needs to give the tenant if they want them out on the last day of the AST?
e.g. AST runs 1 Jan '18 - 31 Dec '18. Would notice need to be given by 31 Oct '18 latest?
If notice was given on 15 Nov '18 what would be the consequence?
If the window is missed and a Periodic Tenancy is created, would that require 2 months notice at the end of the AST - i.e 28 Feb?
Cheers.

It's a 2 month notice period regardless of when the notice is served. A section 21(1) notice can be served at any time before the end of the contractual end of the tenancy.

Cheers.
Sorry I'm being really thick with this.
In the eg above if you served on 15 Nov '18 would that mean that the tenant has to leave by 15 Jan '19 (15 Nov + 2m) or 28 Feb' 19 (AST end date of 30 Dec + 2m)?

So I bought a used (but looks in pretty good condition..?) DA cassette with a fairly expensive brand new sram chain. Chain is slipping in gear 7/8/9 - all other gears are great. Is this normal when combining used/new drivechain parts?
Thanks in advance

Yes.

Slipping between gears or slipping over teeth?

15th Jan. It's only if the notice is served after the end of the contractual term that it has to expire on the end of one of the rental periods. Section 21(4) is a very stupid law which gives no real benefit to tenants and simply provides pitfalls for honest but dim landlords. I thought it had been amended - evidently not. Bloody government's apparently busy with some bunfight with the EU. Useless gimps.
Bear in mind date of service is not necessarily date of posting. If you want to make sure, put the notice in their hands personally.

Looking at that cassette, and the wear on the teeth, I'd describe it as 'fucked' rather than 'pretty good condition'. Maybe it's just me though. Still looks shagged.
Cheers, camper vans are more expensive to buy though I thought
