  • In this aerosuit in picture 12 and 14, what are the little flaps under the zip for? I can't think of a reason for them

  • Radio/bluetooth transmitter + headphones?
You always see the pros with "something" on their back which looks like it is in that location.

  • Is this shifter dead, or repairable?

If dead... anyone got a RH Sram rival 10spd shifter they would be willing to part with :)?

  • The Vermarc website and brochures don't have any detailed information about their garments and there's no mysterious feature which might be those flaps...

    PR.R is Vermarc's premium range: http://www.vermarcsport.com/en/prr-time-trial-suit?return_uri=/en/teamwear/prr-teamwear

Their "pro-team" ranges don't include skinsuits, so they're repro rather than team-issue.

  • I meant the 2 small flaps, not the pouch. Pretty sure the inside pocket is for the radio.

They might be to clip the microphone to? They're usually clipped to bib straps, but aerosuits dont have them

  • I think @boredom means the two curved-square tabs sown in with the zip.

Could be somewhere to attach a strapless HRM to avoid having a chest-strap spoiling the smoothless of the fabric over the rider's back, but for that I'd expect the tabs to be on the left- rather than right-side zip.

  • so they're repro rather than team-issue.

I don't think it is a reproduction . Adam Hansen races in them most of the time.

  • Maybe so: a whole turn of the lock ring from not attached to tight.

I repaired one only a week ago. The two broken ones that I had broke on the shift lever and the metal ratchet part so I have an intact plastic piece. But not sure if the plastic piece and metal ratchet are separable - they have a bit of play but I can't get the two apart - I didn't try forcing it for fear of breaking the plastic. I have a few spare shifters (that I want to hold onto) so I can post you the plastic bit and you can try a repair if you like.

Or simply bodge something in with epoxy or whatever - all it needs to do is retain the head of the cable with no play so doesn't need to be anything fancy.

Image repost, you can see the plastic part and ratchet in the top left there:

It's real easy to dismantle and reassemble, no harm in having a go at a repair

  • Seeing as code is tagged by three backticks in microcosm, how do so many people accidentally apply code formatting to (parts of) their posts?

  • That would be awesome. I’d like to try a repair, will pm thanks!

The code button is next to the citation button, and the back ticks kinda look like apostrophes, maybe they think they quoting?

  • If I remember correctly I have seen on this forum a solution to route two brake levers on one single brake caliper (something that mounts on the cable just before the front brake caliper cable entry).

Does anyone recall what I am describing and could give a link to it (and potentially a feedback)?

EDIT: I found it here https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/cables/jtek-doublecontrol-s/ have anyone ever used this and could give a feedback?

Four (or more) spaces at the start of a line will also trigger the code formatting

  • Used it for years. It’s great.

Just occasionally lubricate it with prolink pro gold to keep it moving smoothly.

  • Paul also make a lever or check the polo forums around 5 years ago for a bunch of hacks and bodges.

  • I meant the ones on their website are repro, and yours and Adam's are not.

    You can't buy a brand-new Lotto-Soudal skinsuit.

  • Going to a meeting later, is it ok to just turn up with loads of cake and then kinda vaguely ignore the meeting and spend the time eating cake?

  • I used p4d comparison to move things internationally and back again. Good rates, and really quite quick. UPS was cheapest and not a single thing damaged.

  • There has been a rappist killed in America, called XXXTentacion.
    How does one pronounce XXXTentacion?

    I've been saying ex-ex-ex-tent-a-cee-on.
    Or is it Zzz-ten-tashun?

  • A few seconds in "my name is ex-ex-ex" so I guess it's a silent Tentacion.

  • I’m looking to get a vehicle to use as a gardener. Does anyone know if you can take berlingo to the dump as many times as you want no questions asked? Or will they eventually say hello mate doesn’t matter how many windows you’ve got in your ‘not a work van’ van, you’ve been here 3 times this week, you’re knicked...

Also how the fuck do you keep car insurance to a minimum? I haven’t bought yet so I’m getting quotes for different vehicles. I need one with a lot of capacity that you can take to the dump.

After to speaking to about 15 different insurance brokers one told me that newer cars around the 3 grand mark are cheaper to insure than cheaper cars, also that rarer cars are cheaper to insure... any help out of this quagmire greatly appreciated

  • Vans cost more to insure than the same vehicle as a campervan, because of tool theft.

  • Sure. Keep the blood sugars up

  • Removing a rounded-off left-hand threaded bolt - do I need a left-handed bolt extractor?

Or can I just use a normal drill bi?
