  • Fuuucking retailer sending me a 42 mm watch while I ordered a 36. Was a present and I forgot to check what's in the box before I gave it to her. Now I have to send it back /rant

  • Thanks, I fully understand people’s apprehension. I work in a world where pr companies will send out products to be photographed but I guess it’s very different when it comes to personal property. That said, my reputation would be shot if something happened to the products.

  • I have a Hamilton Pan Europ which is my daily driver. I love it, but mine has a very minor flaw (the bezel does not totally line up at the noon mark). That said, got it half price, figure that's ok.

The insides are all solid, being actually a Swatch owned company. Parts / labour etc.. should be relatively cheap.

  • Yep was referring to work on site, would rate that work over image posted in your OP tbh!

  • That awful White House Down movie is on. Apparently Tatum’s watch is a ‘Bulova Hack Watch’ that was crazy good value when it was new ($150 rrp). Must keep an eye out for something similar.

  • You can buy about a hundred of them in various sizes for a tenner or so.

  • The inspection sticker filled me with fear but it was as new inside. Surprisingly comfortable on a small wrist, disconcertingly light, and clearly way too big for me.

Not sure if I’ll pass this on, feels a bit too big and not in a baller kinda way.

  • I like it, PM me if you wanna move it on... And fancy posting to Oz...

  • everyone needs a zombie apocalypse watch.

  • Set up all the date and time then left it to check temp reading vs thermometer. Seems fine, and pressure matches my other tool. I’m wearing it again and starting to like it, but also hating it at the same time (puny wrists). It is actually really nice for a toy ABC.

I’ll put the gshock back on to cycle and think about it when I get back later (if you’re happy with the £40 + registered post). 85% certain to sell.

  • Alsal has 2 junghans watches in. They look lush.

  • The sapphire ones? Utterly gorgeous.

  • From the RiP thread. Mr g shock

  • Morning all,

Could anyone give me a ballpark price for this ladies’ Omega. It is 9ct gold, NOS, 80’s, no box or papers. Oddly (to me), it has no crown and uses a small push button to adjust the time. It is in full working order

    Thanks

  • it's probably worth about £700 or so.

  • That’s great - thanks. Pondering a prezzie for my wife to get in the good books. Next stop, my own Omega.

There is method in my madness 😁

  • Gumtree or local barg’?

    Push button means quartz right?

In other news, the ABC is on its way to Oz...

  • Not sure if posted but great Talking Watches on Hodinkee...

  • ^seconded

  • Local sale. I presume quartz. Is that bad? Push button works fine - Watch is as new.

  • Nah so long as you’re happy with it. There’s a real forum-boner over mechanical, but I think quartz can be way more....usable.

GF’s Michel Herbelin is quartz, super slim and has survived a beating. Pretty sure an Omega quartz is gonna be pretty top.

  • Thanks. I know the forum likes mechanical but I had to ask.

I did look at the Herbelins, Omega took my fancy in the shop window. There were other newer similar type watches at various prices - mostly £3000+ for 18ct gold and the jeweller mentioned that these watches have ‘cheaper’ movements as you are paying for the gold. Newer similar watches have more gate styled bracelets but I like the Omega bracelet a lot. My wife has gold gate bracelets and this will look different.

  • If anyone can shed any light on the model, it would be appreciated. Google seems to say a DeVille but there are very limited pictures and all seem to show a smooth case. This watch has an engraved case - around the edge. Apologies but I forgot to take pics of the edge and back. ( there are only numbers on the back but I didn’t take note of what they were)
