Fair.
I just came back to say I’ve seen Adam did 260NP for 12hours and that’s nuts.
I was trying to work out how long I could d that for, maybe half. Is he henche?

He's a big lad. Part time trackie tandem pilot.

I’m just doing the sums in my head.
Incredible efforts by both. Amazing.

Neil Lauder, who's currently winning a lot in the South East district, did 263NP for 285 miles with 13 mins for stops. And he's a wee slip of a lad. So as well as having a massive engine Duggleby must be combining it with being very slippery.

Funny how things change. A few years ago you had a few super slippery types putting in the fast times off zero power, now the big engine guys have got aero and they're on top again.

Lauder needs to do work on position and on stop strategy. That's a poor return on that power!
-
• #18183
Yeah, that does seem like a poor return on the effort. I did 200NP for 265miles with 7 mins off the bike (turns out I have a tiny bladder).

I did 197NP for 258 miles, although I did have nearly half an hour off the bike. No support, so I had to stop and restock with supplies four times. And have a wee, once, but it was a very, very long wee. And message @Cycliste with brief updates.
I'm now looking at the E2/12 in August, where I should be able to rustle up plenty of helpers, and starting to think that 270 miles wouldn't be out of reach.

I do wonder if his powermeter reads accurate...
Seems he's on a quarq. It's big power for someone who trains 7h a week.

• #18186
when in august?
-
• #18187
19th. I reckon the bruises will have healed by then.
-
• #18188
I'll be in the country. I'll put an entry in and see how I am.

When I did it (a faster day) in 2014 I got 264 miles from just 169 W and 45 seconds stationary!

You must be very smooth.

Even dumber when you realise there's a better pic of him riding with his eyes pointing more or less up the road

I entered the London CC event this coming Saturday thinking it was a course I'd ridden before and not particularly enjoyed. Turned out that was the F10/10 and this one is the F20/10, which is much flatter and faster. Which is nice.
Let's hope I don't fuck it up again.

Finally got a breakthrough on the local 10 mile course this evening, after 3 years of 21:30-22 minutes and not even getting close to 22 managed a 20:59 this evening, proper chuffed!

Congrats!
You've already started planning your assault on a long-19 now, haven't you?!

managed a 20:59 this evening
So where did it all go wrong on Thursday? Midge only went back 8s :)

such a troll!!!!
weather conditions, catching people at the wrong times, power, risks taken at junctions were all less optimal!
that was your best time on there for a while wasn't it, were you pleased?
That's the athletes, not the weather. Was seriously blustery.
Alice's ride last year was her first 12 and she's progressed this year, same with Duggelby. Every year, the game moves on.
