If you've got some shock cord or paracord or similar lying around you could make a loop and then thread each end under the straps on each side, creating a loop of cord around the back of the pack to which you could attach the light, might be a bit fiddly if you're opening it up a lot though.
Back of helmet/seat stay might be better!

It wont be facing towards the back though.
I'll post a pic of the set up there might be other possibilities ..
