I listened to @mdcc_tester and @Scilly.Suffolk advice to use black tape.

And didn't follow it....

Looking on the bright side, whoever buys it is going to want to bin those bars, so at least in the process the world will be rid of that tape :)

It seems unlikely the tape will survive the raging inferno that consumes those tyres, so I'm still hopeful of a positive outcome.
