Long time forum member but I’ve only just found this thread, some great discussion here!
I am a watchmaker myself, currently enjoying the discussion about Super Compressors as I am currently servicing my own Delvina, this one has air ministry military marks, the only one I’ve seen with these markings. I’ll attach some pics.
My instagram is below if anyone is interested/needs work done

If anyone was on the fence but was gonna bite the bullet (like I did), there are only 4 left of that Casio ABC on the argos ebay...

Thanks but that's a fake, the real ones have the same colour fascia as the rest of the watch... All the fakes also have a plastic clasp, which generally gives up after a few weeks... Does this one have the disco light mod? That's fun...

Oh wow, that’s so strange - I didn’t know there were fake ones. Shoulda guessed by lack of Casio etc. Ah well. For £2 in a charity shop and a spare buckle out the drawer, I’ll just use it as a bike watch.
edit: feck there’s a lot of fakes
The light is a weird blue thing from the side. Oddly pleasing.

Last night at dinner, a couple complimented me on my Sub Homage. Interestingly they were German and struggled with the language and yet made an effort to ask. I happily told them it was a German boutique.

I bought it! My wife wears it. She loves it. Perfect on her small wrists.

I’ve got a fun disco lights ‘Gasio’ that I got in India. The bracelets somehow even more epilatey than the originals!

anybody watching the world cup? Hublot supplied everybody with watches. refs coaches even guests ( maradona is wearing one now). Bet Biver asked if players can wear one too :)
edit: Maradona is wearing 2 :)

So I sourced a replacement Rolex strap as my Tudor came on a generic bracelet that was very narrow at the clasp - I dropped it off at the local watch place and went to get a coffee... this is what I was handed back

Needless to say I was livid. Found a specialist watch repairer locally and asked if they would be able to polish the scratches out - they said they’d try and to leave it with them... I gave their invoice to the first place and they agreed to pay for the work. The second lot have done a really nice job, only slight annoyance is that they’ve snagged the lip of the plexiglass between 6 and 7 o’clock... this is the kind of thing that will piss me off for a good few years... why didn’t I just leave the thing alone! If it ain’t broke etc... ffs :(

Hublot are quite proactive in sponsoring, they do a few poker tournaments too. I watched that JC Bivers HODINKEE the other day, quite a character. And it’s made me look at Patek which is a whole new world of pron.
A player in the casino was wearing quite a nice Hublot last night but for 40 minutes of googling nasty Big Bangs I still can’t find it. Matt Grey Ceramic chronograph with what looked like a Tourbillion where the 6 o clock register would be...? Calf skin strap
tropical bracelet ;)
