I am in the process of converting a cheapo novatec screw on disc hub with old skool cup and cone bearings. Idea is to able to ride the wheel with my normal 120mm old frames and the 135 kode, hence getting a 180mm axle and will add spacers when desired.
With the hub right in the middle it gives a give and take 45mm chainline either way. I might get a screw on disc adapter and dish the wheel for a 42mm chainline. If lucky, then the disc won't be too far out from the desired position and I can get it to work with some spacers on the disc is to post mount adapter.
A lot of bodging, but that keeps it a challenge.
Expect failure though.
What's the weird drive train idea?
