Currently sipping Firebug from Elusive Brewing. 'Tis rather nice.
Anyone got any recommendations for other pale/IPA style beers with oats in the brew?

ABC trio. Cold Two is a 'Bakewell Tart Coffee Pale Ale' which sounds weird but is tasty, hints of raspberry fruit ale but not as sweet.

Just catching up on the last few pages here, always enjoy @fussballclub's glass close ups as I seem to drink in the same Graceland pubs. Anyway, just finished a Lervig tasty juice and it was brilliant, buy that beer every time you see it.
Just completed a west coast Canada/US trip and Superflux was probably the stand out. Honourable mentions for the Modern Times taproom, the Cascade taproom, Pliny on tap in the city beer hall and Kids These Haze from Breakside in Portland.

It's another stonking festival here in Norwich.
Adnams Ghost Ship in oak is really rather nice. And Good King Henry always welcome.

Had a lovely Belching Beaver peanut butter milk stout tonight. £6.50 for a schooner though 😱
No picture sorry. Imagine a normal looking stout with minimal head in a ⅔ pint glass.

Beavertown have finally confirmed Heineken have bought a minority stake
They are moving from a 45,000hl site to a 450,000hl site on 6.5 acres of land within the M25 somewhere they are calling Beaverworld. -

The Veil had already pulled out of BeaverEx when the rumours started now Cloudwater have pulled out. Reminds me of when InBev bought Wicked Weed and everyone pulled out of their festival.

It'll be interesting to see what interest Heineken have bought in Beavertown. They keep stressing it's a minority interest but there isn't anything that I can see on what that actually is in numbers.

RIP taproom(?), new place looks souless. Anyone leaked the location?

They got £40 million, how much do you reckon Heineken thought they were worth?
They are a super successful brewery, but couldn't be valued at more than £100 - £150 million, surely.
That's just an un-informed guess. No idea really.

They say the plan is to keep the taproom and use their existing brewery to brew more interesting stuff whilst the big one ramps up production of the popular stuff (Gamma Ray and Neck Oil in particular it looks like)

Tonight I'm supporting independent brewing. Canned on 13th, fresh.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Heineken got 49% with the repeated statement that they're a minority partner but not saying by how much.
Puts the value in line with Camden Town which seems reasonable.
-
• #6948
I think 49% is also the stake they recently bought of Brixton

So what's a good Black Betty alternative that's available all year?
-

Good question, there's been a campaign to get Magic Rock to bring 8 ball back. Only one I can think of is Yeastie Boys Pot Kettle Black.
A good £1.50 option (Asda)
