Look on CRC at the Vitus bikes, get a BC for an extra 10% off.

I've ran them since they came out. I still can't believe how good they are.
-
• #4334
word. i ran them in the winter with fenders and i will never do anything else again.
-
• #4335
just wish they werent so expensive!

honestly don't hate that, just needs the bars tilting up a bit
-
• #4342
It's the worst I could find, sorry.

probably not very popular on here but I recently picked up a boardman team cx for £450, I think you can get them for about £800 with BC cycling discount.
To be honest, I'm loving it. Sram 1x11 Hydro seems like a bargain at that price point -
• #4344
the speed yes, I just have standard tubeless g ones for gravelly stuff
-
• #4346
That is pretty confusing to look at
-

niiiice!!! i would try BILBAO AND SAN SEBASTIEN!! the best food/tapas/pinchos are arguably ins the north! Best i ever had was in SAN SEBASTIEN!

Spinnnout and sion, Thanks for the reply's. The vitus substance looks really nice, and its steel..
-
• #4349
The substances are well specced for the price, but they are really heavy, noticeably so.
I do like steel, i sold my arkose in the end for it being alu. Little things like the threads for fenders, racks etc always so much more fragile than on steel frames. I've never had an alu bike that I've felt is a 'lifer', whereas I have two steel bikes that are certainly lifers. Just my views, that nobody asked for...

Didn't know about the substance, was thinking of the Energie apex1 for £850 and Rival1 for a bit above your budget.

Has bottle cages, mud guard mounts and 42c clearance and claims a modest frame weight (1200g). If you like the look, see if the geometry is any different to the 'gravel' models..
That's quite desirable.
