^ Very good points. When you really dig into the history of various famous watches (moonwatch, submariner, etc etc) you begin to see that they ALL ripped each other off at some point.
Didn't Rolex pinch the gas escape valve from Doxa and the rotating bezel from Longines (although Movado, Zenith and a few others did it earlier too). Blancpain were the first to do it in a dive watch I think. I think the chrono movement as we know it came from Zenith.
Yeah, it's more about whether they are significant in their design rather than original/founding. That's why Nomos smash it so fiercely - Genuinely unique in both the look and the internals!
