Turns out it’s not the chainstay. Which I’m relieved about.
Seatstay lug
Thoughts?

Looks like it's just the seatstay not the lug.

New seat stay and you'd be looking at around £50.

Second picture, top right. Another crack? This frame more hassle than it’s worth?

Looks like it's in the paint, like it's had a bit of tape stuck on it to me. That dark line below the lug on the seat tube looks more like a crack but it's hard to say from 1 pic online. Easier to tell in person and sand it back if it looks sus.

Looks like the other seat stay has a crack coming through too

Looks like it, and is that one a cm or so under the lug on the seat tube too?
Ooof, and I thought Max was the tank like bomb proof tubing.

Where can I get some replacement paragon rockers? I'd like to get a pair of the 12mm flat mount inserts for my Talbot

What would be the most stressed/under constrain parts of a threaded fork? My guess would be at the junction of the fork blades and the steerer tube, but just wanted different opinions.
Damaged the top of my fork by dropping it on the floor: the flat part (where the little cylindrical washer of a threaded headset with a flat part on the inner diameter sits) was a little ripped (around 4mm maybe) but the threads were fine; managed to put a quill stem inside the steerer to straighten up the torned part, re-assembled the threaded headset and re-fitted the quill stem.
I reckon it could be fine as the torned part of the steerer is gripped between the headset on the outside and the quill stem on the inside, and I see it as a "low-stress" area, but I guess I could be wrong and wanted different opinions on that.

Ceeway

Wanted to ask someone about buying stuff off Ceeway. Can any old mope put in an order or is there some sort of register or some wholesale regulation stuff that means only businesses can buy stuff? How much do they charge for postage? Is there a minimum order or something?
Basically I just want to buy a couple of bosses as an amateur - do I need to find a local framebuilder for it to be economical?
-
• #563
Theres a Ceeway group order thread in the frame builders forum, I think because postage is so high. Buying one or two off a local frame builder would probably be more economical
-
• #564
Yeah probably wouldn't work for me as I'm Edinburgh, though onward postage of a couple of bosses would be cheap. The Shand guys are nearby, maybe they can help me out. Will investigate
-
• #566
It isn't actually that expensive - I think there is a mention of a minimum shipping charge, but this assumes you are getting tubes - if you are just getting a couple bosses, I think they will just do it for a couple quid or something.

I looked at some bits from ceeway today for drop outs and a TA. Postage was only a fiver.
-
• #568
Yeah I’d bumped my guns about postage being more than normal but I was talking shite. I’ve since placed a couple small orders and postage hasn’t been too bad.
It’s a bit of a faff the way they do it with you having to ask for a quote n that but they’re very friendly via email at least.

I sent through a query a few days ago, think they're closed Saturday/Sunday/Monday though so no response yet.
I'm just after a few bosses personally, you could fit them in a Royal Mail large letter probably... Will update here when they get back to me with the cost for anyone else looking to do something similar
-

Well the bunch of bosses I'm after are a mere £1-3 with IS disc tabs being the most expensive at about £4. Still waiting to hear about postage but at those prices I'm going to go for it.
(Edit: minimum postage is £4.95.)
Now to decide what I want. What is the consensus on cable guide tunnels like this? Better off with stops and a linking bit of housing? They seem pretty rare in real life, is that for a good reason? Rust and wear seem like obvious issues. (In my case it's to route a cable from the top tube to seat stay, not BB)

Went for a ride around some of Kents finest shit-holes this afternoon.
On the homeward leg, I found myself outside a frame-building monument.
I can also report that Woolwich - yes Woolwich- is awash with hipsters.

0.625” od x 0.035”w/t @ £4.25ft (ca.

1.250” od x 0.058”w/t @ £4.00ftLengths are random between 9-12ft.
EDIT: I can easily cut down to your specs at my work if you need it to be manable on a bike or in a car.

Bought some 6mm x 1mm 316L ss tube to make a seat tube mounted saddle bag holder to keep my saddle bag off the dropper on my mountain bike...
I'm concerned it might be too light now?
Thoughts?

Sounds interesting.

Sounds like it’ll completely depend on the geometry and how much of the stuff you use! Maybe post a sketch?
No but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper and I desperately want to learn to make things
