  • Hi. Anybody knows this rack compatible with pompino v4? Anybody use this?

  • Should work, fork needs to be drilled tho

  • This seems like the best place to ask - I'm thinking about getting an Octane One Kode because I'm fed up of commuting on aluminium and want moar clearance.

How are you getting on with yours @aka / @Rodolfo ? Any pics of them built up?

Did the small work out for you in the end @Rodolfo ?

  • nice but pricey (for chromoly)

you like obscure bikes/stuff, as a seasoned #buyer I was offended that I had NEVER heard/seen these bikes.

  • Ha. It's hard to find something which ticks the clearance/steel/disc brakes in future/vertical drop outs/looks OK boxes now that the Pompino has been discontinued (and a load of other options are also not around now). CRC have 10% off them and I can get another 10% off with my BC membership, so could be worse.

Either way it's a LOT cheaper than a Tempo with a disc fork which wouldn't take more than 28mm tyres...

  • Omnium cxc would be my choice, I want one for this winter

  • ^thats what I'd buy if I didn't already have a pompino and a pompetamine

  • I had one and sold it because I didn't get on with the geometry! Not fixed/SS specific though, wrong dropouts. The Kode has rear facing horizontal drop outs plus a removable derailleur hanger...

  • Looks nice but only seems to be available from Denmark and is more expensive than the Kode?

  • Hmm, this is interesting. I like that it has sliding dropouts, my gargantuan power* means that I constantly end up with a slack chain so that's an attractive feature. I'm pretty sure my friendly LBS can also order in Bombtrack bikes, I will go away and do some reading!

    *or weak cyclist arms

  • Haven't built it up yet. Will drop it off at a sandblasters somewhere this month to really emulate the V4 raw substitute.
Sizing looks good for me (when sizing it up to my other frames) but I like my frames low due to having short legs and related groin clearance.
Sizing table is quite elaborate with stack and reach and all that jazz. I decided the old skool way of juggling head- top- and seattube lengths.

  • Scratched that due to horizontal TT and being inbetween sizing

  • They were on clearance on a French website, BMX avenue iirc

  • Btw look into the frames of crc bikes. They have a vertical dropout eccentric bb frame. I believe @psee had nightmares with the pf44(?) BB but they also sell it with a fitting eccentric bb.
Dunno how those fare with fixed though.

  • Couldn't look beyond the bad paint job.
BMX avenue also had them on clearance

  • Yeah I'm typically a 55, which is frustrating
