too ill to ride. Awful persistent cough, deep aches in my bones, woke up in a puddle of sweat. Pretty sure I'd be a danger on the road. Not a decision I'm taking lightly, but health has to come first and I'm just to ill for this to be sensible

Can’t see Bjorn loosing this now. Shame the race to be never really materialised. What with josh dns and a few other potential contenders not having the legs.

Gavin Dempster still riding really well.

Yeh was expecting a bit more from the sharp end of this race but it got a bit predictable quickly.

Bjorn is a beast, so no surprise.

What happened to Vin Cox? Was he not competitive?

No where near. Perhaps not on it, seems a touring pace.

just heard from my pal Innes Ogilvie who was riding really well (had tracker issues)

His freehub shat the bed and he can't get repalcements in a reasonable time so his race is over. He's racing the TCR though and should do well there.

Had a chat with Vin at the start and he wasn't planning a competitive ride. He's not been keeping on top form recently.

At CP2.

Been struggling on the hills now. They're not massive but punchy and relentless. Taking a long break and seeing what tomorrow brings.

I'm not going as well as hoped but, as my fitst of this kind of ride, I'm happy with what I've done so far.

Into the sixth day and so far only ridden through three light rainshowers. I think if ever there was a year to do if, its this one.
