Need a suggestion: I have not been using my Pacer (SH4700 and DT Swiss R24 wheels) in the last 6 months or so (not commuting anymore by bike). I have come out with 2 ideas:
- keep it, remove mudguards, put on 700x32 tyre (Tektro R539 brakes) and use it for light gravel ride (like around Lee Valley and wetlands)
- sell it and buy a single speed gravel bike (Marin Nicasio SS)
Any suggestion?

I’d keep the pacer personally. I love charging around the lea on my steamroller and imagine having a few gears would make it even better.

Keep it, if yer rims are wide enough, you'll get 35mm tyres in there. Pacers are awesome.

35 mm with the Tektro r539?
-
• #989
Yup. Got 32mm gravelking sks in mine, still with shit loads of clearance.

Cool, thanks

yep got 539's on my roller and run 35mm continental CX Race knobbies or CX speed's with no issues. And can cram in mudguards with the CX speed's on the fork.

Getting ready to sell my Ogre if anyone would be interested.
It's a 2015 model, frame+fork, 18", black. Can post if I can find/make a rear dropout protector. -

Thanks. At the end I went for a couple of g-one

@amey advised this would be possible with a rear mech hanger like this
http://www.moovebikeco.com/derailleur-hanger-for-horizontal-drop-outs-dirtjumper
And an mtb rear mech so you can run an outer cable all the way from the shifter... -

A sram MTB mech, zip tied full length outer, Sram road shifters and that ^ hanger BUT the frame will have to be spaced to 130mm.

I’ve got a 1x1 arriving in the next few weeks, which I’m pretty excited about. What’s the optimum way to set it up? Seen some done mid-fat on 26in, some 650b and even a 29er. Anyone got any good do’s and don’ts when it comes to the 1x1?

a white 54cm steamroller with Paul brakes and CK headset went for £220 yesterday .. regret!
Wow, geometry is way different between 650b and 700c. The lure of short chainstays has always been too much for @amey to resist
