I'll miss Harrison, he was such a winning little guy. Always wanted a lap and a skritch, talkative and companionable.
Guess we knew his card was marked when he couldn't be convinced to eat anything and 'helping' tie shoelaces no longer held any interest. I had been syringe-feeding him for a while which was distressing for the both of us.
We have lots of happy memories, from the moment he came to us, dishrelleved, injured and infested to my last picture of him. I was just about to go to bed and he jumped up on the couch and put his paw over my arm, I couldn't move for another twenty minutes. Was lucky to have him in our lives for a year.
We lay him in state for the day Saturday then gave him an almighty send-off with a ferocious funeral pyre. After burning through the night we have a few pieces of him left for a reliquary of sorts, so he'll always be with us.

Thanks for the kind words.
