Except for the drop into St Gervais (which made the final even harder) this was the same last two climbs as one of the stages on the tour in 2016 it was the day Froome slid down a descent on his 4rse. Possibly stage 19?
We stayed on the penultimate climb in a lovely gite (that was briefly in shot) that year and from personal experience the climb from the Sallanches road to the top at Bettex is amazingly steep 1st gear in the car at one point). And the houses on the road from St Gervais to Bettex are beyond belief too.
