I am certain there is no logic behind this build hence hhsrb

Amazing. Would love a stainless bike
-
• #5704
Because it does not rust?
-
• #5705
It does. But like really really slowly.

• #5706
I do not think you know how stainless steel works.
-
• #5707
Well it should not stain that's for sure

This is hot hot hot

Yes I agree. For a kids bike ;)

Does this actually work out lighter than using a carbon post?
I don't know the tubing used in this build, but a 650mm Columbus XCr seat tube is 275 gram. A Zipp 330mm carbon seatpost is 170 gram and needs a minimum insertion of 100mm. So yeah it sort of does make sense if you're going for lightness.
But like Hulsroy said, it's mainly the HHS kudos.

True, but the Thomson expander weight needs to be factored in. Which will hardly be weenie. If youre chasing weight an external seatmast topper like this would be the lightest I'd imagine. Nowhere near as cool though

• #5712
Yeah, I am pretty sure Sam went for the silver Thomson as it matches the stainless tube quite well.
-
• #5713
Yeah of course, it looks great. Wasnt saying that^^ was what you should have done at all or criticising
-
• #5714
I don't have anything at stake here. It is all Sam this one :)

I can't get my head around those proportions. Is it 650c?
-
• #5724
Yeah 650c wheels. Somewhat common on old TT bikes

Does this actually work out lighter than using a carbon post? Or is it just rad (entirely justified ofc)
