  • It is. Plus the tube is likely double butter which means it’ll be thinner there and almost impossible to repair through a weld. You can fix a crack around an existing weld, you just add more material to it, but that doesn’t work in the middle of a tube.

  • Sleeve it? From the photo it does seem classic place for down tube to crack, closer to the HT and the tubing is stiffer.
    Given that there’s a fork bolt (light fixing?) directly opposite to the crack then wonder if dented when spannering? Crack then starts on dent crease.
    Holes drilled for di2 cables are problematic too.
