11s stuff should work across brands, according to this http://www.velonews.com/2013/09/bikes-and-tech/drivetrain-compatibility-hidden-in-plain-sight_303199

He's asking about compatibility between derailleurs and shifters.
The article is about the compatibility between cassettes, which I thought was pretty well known. There's some Srampagnolo and Shimergo setups out there, but I think it's usually 8- or 9-speed stuff.

So I've heard that campagnolo 10spd road shifters will work with sram 10spd rear drs, so I suppose it's possible that the opposite is true as well. As far as any # of speeds outside of 10, not the faintest idea.
FWIW you could always just go friction thumbie. The difficulties of shifting 10spd+ with friction are greatly overstated ime.

Huh, so the 11spd shifters might be cross-compatible as well? That's pretty cool.
