  • You are me maybe 10 years from now minus the blue tyres

  • minus the blue tyres

Still holding these for you, when are you collecting?

  • I am thinking of getting the Blackburn Outpost frame bag for carrying rain jacket, work clothes and lunch box for commute- any pros cons etc.?

Will also use for biking adventures when the opportunity arises

  • that's what I used to do with my apidura frame bag – bought for camping trips but then ended up using it every day instead of a messenger bag. Only stopped coz I have a shorter commute now, there aren't really any downsides. If I needed to carry something extra I used a roadrunner burrito bag up front, but that rarely happened

  • As a commuter bag, something like a sqr mounted carradice is much better as it's easy to remove from the bike

  • Thirded.

  • My thinking was to have stuff in carrier bags inside the frame bag to take into work leaving the frame bag attached

  • I order one to have a butcher, for the money I’m a little impressed, and the fact it can be extended for touring.

  • So before I went to Scotland, I brought this, an Alpkit Gnaro;

I underestimate the sizes as it's smaller than I thought however it was enough to shove my sleeping bag in without the cover.

I wouldn't really recommend it because the strap doesn't hold when tighten up, which mean when you add a bit of weight by strapping stuff on the yellow core, it kept loosing up way too easily to the point I end up looping some toe strap (it got some molle webbing luckily) to secure it further.

It's a shame, cause it's a cracking little budget bar bag for ultralight touring/long day on the saddle/beach etc. had it not been for the strap not being secure nor have any lockable clasps/

  • Works the same with a Carradice, I have a nylon shopping bag that always lives in mine - initially it was a necessity because one is an older model that doesn't have the nylon liner/cord lock, but they're in all the saddle bags I have.

  • So using the Tredz £5 voucher I ordered a large frame bag, the carradice looks ace though and I probably prefer the set up to Velcro saddle bags a future purchase though

  • I’d put on some electrical tape where the Velcro is in contact with the frame - it tends to rub a fair amount.

  • I have a large blackburn outpost bag, which is sliiiightly too big for my frame. It's been used on one overnighter, and a couple of times to avoid carrying a backpack. Would anyone be interested in it for £35?

  • About a day late! Ordered mine yesterday lunchtime

  • Good price. I have one.

  • has anyone had any experience withthe planet x pod sac stuff? not expecting much for the price but it looks ok as a budget option

  • I had to send mine back, as it required too much exposed seat post. Build quality was very good, attachment was a bit fiddly. Unfortunately I can't say how it holds up in anger.

  • Few guys had them on the gravel dash. I know @sasmon seemed happy with his.

  • Got these Alpkit bars two days ago. Looking very much forward to trying them out. Hopefully I can avoid using a harness and just run my drybag directly onto these with some good straps and a hip bag in the void for snacks.

  • I've got one, cheap and cheerful, is not waterproof but has a cover to go over it in the side pocket, holds a fair amount of stuff as well! I've got the top tube bag just for clarification!

  • I bit the bullet last night an ordered a few bits, I'll report back once I've had a chance to give them a go.
