  • Could I maybe get the link as well? Need to get some decals for a mate's R700

  • Sure, PM incoming

  • Hi everyone

Just joined and wanted to share my to-be-assembled CAAD3.

I originally thought about using only original parts from back in the days but i hate cables spawning out of the STIs and all over the place in front of the bar

Also dont like quill stem on alu frames so had to get a 1“ ahead-able fork

Hence, went with DA 7900 and metron 55s; some thomson parts

old school parts are coda brakes, flite, cranks, time fork (close to original but wirhout cannondale decals on front) and most notably look/saeco pedals

BB/Crank probably something to be changed next winter

Bit doubtful about 58 frame size and wondering if i should look out for 56 instead

    #Hopeyoulike

  • This is going to be good.

  • Looks good already!

  • just been looking at the synapse disc,so nice. I have been saving up for new bike and it's gonna stretch the budget to the max and has changed my mind what I was thinking of getting.

  • Does any one have a BB30 to 24mm eccentric BB going spare?

  • That'll do pig, that'll do

  • so I have stepped in to the world of mamil with the synapse, really looking forward to riding it been on frame that was way too small with maxed out seatpost and crane like stem.
is the synapse disc a full Mamil machine or just half mamil ? Either way can't wait.

  • the shame ! 😣

  • I will fully embraceembrace the shame of mamil

  • has anyone seen the mamil movie?

  • fork/headset on my supersix evo HM is rattling again.

Replaced the expander plug a while ago and LBS put new bearings in headset recently. What gives and how do it fix it?

  • Is the expander plug far down the steerer enough? I found my top cap was botttoming out on the plug after I had cut my steerer (and then refitted the plug). If it is, then also try greasing the threads on the top cap and also where the top cap interfaces with the top of the stem. Then try tightening everything up again and it should feel nice and snug (and stay that way).

I found that after any removal of the fork the headset took one ride and a couple of big bumps to settle into place and would need tightening once more after this.

  • Thanks so far @danslecarton @Nahguavkire

Due to lack of time, only managed to losely attach a few parts yet (carbon flite seat post to be replaced by masterpiece):

  • how many spacers do people run in their hollowgram si/sisl2s? out of the saddle creaking has returned to my SISL2s and I cannot deal with it anymore. I have replaced every part associated with the crankset and it has returned once more. The only thing I can think is that maybe I need another washer to give the wavy washer even more preload?

  • Have you checked the tightness of your rear quick release?

  • yet you are ready to buy another bike (synapse) with BB30

  • You can eyeball the wavy - as long is it's kinda half compressed it should be fine. Spacer numbers will vary based on frame tolerance.

I've got three sets still on three bikes - all fine except the bloody pivot bearings on the full sus bike are having at it.

You could try some retaining compound on the axle / bearing interface.

  • yes it is very tight. its a dt swiss RWS skewer

it doesn't make the noise when in my wahoo kickr. it is only when the bike rocks side to side when I am pedalling out of the saddle (rocking the bike side to side when not pedalling is silent). I haven't yet ruled out my rear wheel - need to borrow a wheel and give it a ride

  • I am quickly going off the idea. I might get a focus

  • you mean a canyon

  • I had the BB bearings replaced by the LBS on my SystemSix and since then it feels like there's more resistance to the cranks turning. Is this normal because my BB actually has functioning bearings or could it have been reassembled wrong/too much grease?

I've been back to my LBS tons with small niggles on my bikes (which they always sort out cheap or FOC) so I don't want to bother them again if it's not an issue.
