  • Strange shoe question, but does anyone know of a road shoe with lots of rubber tread on the mid/forefoot and little/zero rubber on the heel area? The outside of the midfoot area wears down very quickly for me and the heel rubber is just surplus weight.

  • Any shoe with a minimal drop should have this I would expect.

    You could google barefoot running shoes, but then you might feel like a bit of a wanker.

    Merrell used to do good minimal drop shoes (but then changed the soles from Vibram, to their own make). As did Inov8, before they stopped making road shoes.

  • I was thinking low drop...but I quite like the 8-10mm drop I have on my current shoes because I do use the heels, as they help give the calves some respite when I concentrate on midfoot strike, but they get so little wear that bare foam would suffice...
