  • As is the "but your teeth are pointy, eat a steak" argument that this is obviously a counter point to. That part isn't an amazing argument, the part about most people not currently being able to kill stuff themselves is a good point, I think people are far too disconnected from their food. Either way, the guys a bit of a twat but not an epic fail in any way.

Put me in a room with a pig and tell me to kill it or I starve and I'll have a good bash at snapping it's neck. Failing that I'm sure I could strangle it or bash it's head on the floor till it died or stamp on some of its vital organs or something.

It seems like just one step removed from the argument that vegans like to make that if you want to eat something you should be willing to slaughter it.

I'm perfectly willing, I just think there are incredibly far more humane ways to go about ending the like of an animal than me hacking at it with a knife, or snapping it's neck, or bashing its head on the floor or so on.

I'd rate your chances of coming out alive at about 75/25 in favour of the pig.

And if there was also a supply of veggie burgers in that room? Still have a good bash? I wouldn't. I'd probably share my veggie burgers with the dude.

  • The main issue I have with this is that I prefer beef to pork.
