So according to the Lepsi App both my watches were magnetised.
Took them to a watch repair place I know and they quoted the following:
Hi, none of the watches need demagnetise, they actually need service. We have tested and came to the conclusion:
Autodromo
Needs a service: reversers grinding when wound. Rates very low and beat error too high.
Service £125
Reverser wheel £40
Total £165
Helson
Needs service: rotar weight loose. Rates low and balance needs to be poised (because rates are -26 in dials and -6 in pendants)
Service £125
Bearing £40
Total £165beat error too high.
Service £125
Reverser wheel £40
Total £165
Sounds reasonable. But I doubt the Helson will need poising once serviced. It’s quite an involved process to poise a balance, and often not performed brilliantly. I’d prefer to leave a modern watch as it left the factory as far as poise is concerned.
