  • Like Unicorn Bukkake minus the unicorn....

  • All black wheels and it wouldn't be half bad in my eyes.

  • Facebook Marketplace, a wasteland of poorly maintained bikes with no sizes and no specifications. Prices are inflated but never tyres. But most of them come with a £5 cable lock included so that's good.

  • Facebook Marketplace...Prices are inflated but never tyres.

I had to leave them all.

So many ads that were basically, "I bought this carbon di2 uber bike and used it for one tt so now I've knocked £100 off the full rrp of it!".

Aye, an there's nae fucking warranty and you want me to paypal gift ye the best part of £10k. Jog on.

Walk into an lbs or even the local Evans with that kinda cash burning a hole in your pocket and you're gonna be treated like royalty.

Then you try and sell something, list it at a fair price and all you get is folk offering you 30-50% of your asking price or getting pissy that you won't take their shite, base model Shimano road wheels in trade for your mtb cranks.

That's one end of the spectrum, the other is this sort of thing:

"green bike, needs some work but gear changers work as they should, lock included, hardly used - £100"

  • #tukt front wheel and aero brake position, very good.

  • Amazing that there's still so much true anti kicking around, given how low the bar is set by all the otp fluro fixies.

  • Can't decide what's worse out of Woodworm and White Lightning.

  • from classifieds

  • What a tragic waste of HHS potential.

  • Seller only asks 140 GBP, and there's absolutely no mention of the fork (and probably frame) being ridiculously damaged.

  • Came here to see if this bike had made it to the hallowed pages of anti yet. Of course it had!

  • Awesome.
What was the name of that American show where the cops rode weird 90s mtb’s with seat packs and patrolled the beach with killer trials moves?

  • Oh my Christ why I have I never seen this

  • Reddit again. unsubscribe

Edit: before I get blasted with a bunch of I Like That™ comments it's just the anti-functional bar/stem choice I have a problem with really

  • That looks like one of Olli Erkkila's, no? He's a very talented fabricator, and he comes across as very unpretentious and just wanting to make stuff for fun.
Tastes and fashion have moved on since, but his bikes were really popular on here in 2009/2010, and rightly so.

  • Oh you missed out. The sprinting on super soft suspensions was a particular highlight for me.

  • 100% requirement: Finding perps that talk more than they shoot.

  • Were the brakes sentenced to hanging?

  • Yes, I think so from Googlage. The rest of it is fine, as I say, and it's very interesting to see what he's done to the frame he started with.

However I strongly object to the choice of bars/stem/fork. If you consider that the position of the grips is essentially the same as normal bars, what he's created is a less adjustable system that is surely flexier or heavier if not both. It is anti-functional - it makes the bike worse in several ways and better in no ways.

I guess, if I was being generous, a person could argue that they need a bike that can do two positions, "normal" and ultra-low-stack pursuit type thing. You ride it to the track with BMX bars and then put bullhorns on when you get there. But that seems absurd.
