FWIW the carbon forks I mentioned upthread look really good. They were £70 all in incl. delivery and taxes.

Actually this build is the DBAD of cranks... I bought those cranks a while back from a mate and had nothing to put them on. So the bike itself started from those and kinda grew. Although in saying that, buying the brakes were pure extravagance.

I am at the moment yeah. The painter is giving it a lick of paint as it was prettty pitted in places. Seems it had a thick coat of paint to cover most of it up.

Actually, they are lite pro levers, more of a cheap and cheerful alternative of the extralite ones.

All these years, and I never knew that. Now you opened up a whole new world of possibilities and you got me thinking, bear/bare necessities? Grin and bear/bare it? Consider mind blown.

So finally...... An update on this.
Because my painter was doing this as a pet project I had to be very patient as he had other jobs ongoing. (plus the fact the first batch of pearl paint was very brittle so he had to take it down to bare metal for a second time)
Anyway just got the photos from him of the frame, fresh out of paint.
It's a pearl white with gold sparkle through it. Then he went to town with my design in gold leaf. All logos are either gold leaf or paint and I tried to keep with the original classic design and not go too crazy, although I must admit the colour coded stem will raise a few eyebrows..

Now to get on and finish this build.

Sadly a long way to go for him... I work over here in Shanghai at the moment so he is a local guy. He does do all the paint jobs for tomii cycles for Asian orders.
